Dear M1 and M2 Students,
One of the essays I would like to send you to read in parallel with last week’s class on B. Kingsolver’s short story has not yet been published and on its way to. I would rather not therefore in the meantime upload it on the Internet. Please send me your email address ASAP at benemeillon@gmail.com and I will send you a PDF version.
As for the story Stone Dreams, you may read my article in French in , available at the library campus (the BU):
« L’implicite dans ‘Stone Dreams’ de Barbara Kingsolver », L’implicite dans la nouvelle de langue anglaise. Ed. Laurent Lepaludier.Rennes : Presses Universitaires de Rennes, 2005.
In preparation for Friday’s class, please come having read the collection of short stories by Anne Proulx called Fine Just the Way It Is. If you have time, it would be great too to have read by Friday the very short short story called “55 Miles from the Gas Pump” here attached and the story “The BunchGrass Edge of the World,” from the collection Close Range, available at the BU: 55 Miles to the Gas Pump
Please pass on this information to anyone following this class who you might come across before Friday,
Best wishes
